Certificate in Continuing Education

The Certificate in Continuing Education is designed for students interested in classes solely for personal enrichment.

Students who possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED are eligible to transfer credits earned in the Certificate in Continuing Education program to the Diploma of Ministry program. Students completing their high school diplomas or GED with plans to transfer to the Diploma of Ministry program are encouraged to do so; however, any course work completed prior to earning a high school diploma or GED will not be credited towards the Diploma of Ministry program.

Visiting Students/Course Auditing

Students desiring to take occasional courses for personal enrichment without committing to a Diploma or Certificate program may do so as a Visitor (Auditor). Those who Audit classes are not required to submit classroom assignments and will not receive course grades. Credit is not granted for classes taken in Audit status. The Audit status is usually available at a reduced tuition rate as determined by Heritage Center Administration. The Administration of Heritage Center and instructors reserve the right to limit the number of students who may audit a class.

Transfer of Credit

Because of the specialized nature of programs offered by Heritage Center for Religious Studies, transfer credits may only be accepted from certain institutions in consultation with the Academic Advisor and Registrar.

For transferring students enrolling in the Diploma of Ministry or Certificate in Continuing Education programs, a minimum of seven (7) full courses must be completed in residence at Heritage Center.

Credit that has been applied towards a previously earned Ministry-related Diploma or degree at any institution will not be accepted for transfer credit.

For transferring students from the Certificate in Continuing Education program, course work completed prior to earning a high school diploma or GED will not be credited towards the Diploma program.

Credit is not accepted for classes taken in Audit status.
